Sat Nam Goddesses,
This full moon, there will be more energy and inspiration to clean house, get organized, to do, to work, to…you know—that whole #bossbabe mentality. What if we pivot that energy to the 4D, to being a #boss about cleaning out the subconscious mind for better sleep? Because there is a little known teaching that when we sleep, that is where we do our real lighthouse living…
I first heard about this concept in a lecture by Paramahansa Yogananda. He talked about how he slept so that when he woke his mind was drenched with God and then he wandered through his day in total joy, only to fall asleep again and climb the spiral staircase to heaven and meet the Divine once again. Every night.
The archetype of the spiral staircase and reaching a higher level of consciousness is so familiar—just seeing a photo pointing down or up a spiral staircase can reorganize my mind to calmer and more present state. This pattern is how the Universe grows, shown in nature by the microcosm of spiral of DNA to the macrocosm of the Sun’s journey through space, is special because it radiates out and draws in simultaneously, endlessly, and effortlessly.
During the day it is so easy to be pulled in a million directions wearing all the hats of all the roles we have personally and professionally. That is why sleep is such an efficient time to drench the mind with awareness of Creator and Creation, so when we are awake, we move and spiral forward through our day from Source, rather than from reaction.
It is so seductive to grab at little crumbs of inspiration throughout our day—doing so under the guise of ambition. We can spend our day ‘networking’ ‘posting,’ and other caffeine-fueled activities that temporarily satisfy our entrepreneurial urges. But when our mind isn’t rooted in the special space where our Soul Identity and the awareness of the Divine within meet—we are faux-woke, busy doing nothing, and missing out many beautiful experiences that an uncluttered mind can provide and a beautiful life fueled by life force.
Working with the mind just before bed, planting a seed to make that connection to Source for the following day is an amazing tool to create more joy. 🙂
This full moon I am making available a plant essence bundle, “My Sleep Is My Prayer,” that you can use to anoint yourself with prior to bed. (If you have children, they can share in your bedtime rituals, too!.) You will also receive a guide to anointing and where to anoint for each plant, and a short and simple breathing meditation with pictures to practice on your own before bed to clean the subconscious mind and yoke it to the Divine.
The “My Sleep is my Prayer” bundle includes the following pure plant essences: Zanthoxylum 15 ml, Spikenard 15 ml, the hydrolat sprays (which is the steam collected when the plants are steam-distilled) Lavender and Neroli, 4 oz each, all from Wisdom of the Earth.
To purchase, please find me on Venmo @kundaliniwithsheel, send a payment of $177.55 and include in the notes your email address and mailing address (please double check this information as the essences and hydrolats will be drop-shipped to you directly from Sedona, Arizona). Also, because of the nature of these products there are no refunds or exchanges.
You can be just another busy #bossbabe. Or effortlessly spiraling forward, aware of the Divine within and all around.
I leave you with the poem that inspired the title of this journal entry…
Today I’m flying low and I’m
not saying a word
I’m letting all the voodoos of ambition sleep.
The world goes on as it must,
the bees in the garden rumbling a little,
the fish leaping, the gnats getting eaten.
And so forth.
But I’m taking the day off.
Quiet as a feather.
I hardly move though really I’m traveling
a terrific distance.
Stillness. One of the doors
into the temple.

Happy Full Moon.
